in 1883
under the name Hirth-Krause Company, Wolverine®
has been manufacturing high quality leather shoes and boots for
over a century.

1909
- A modest Wolverine® tannery building
was
completed, thereafter for many years, life in the
small town of Rockford, Michigan was heralded
by the blowing of the tannery whistle.
That first building has now grown into the
second largest pigskin
tannery in the world.
1922
- The Hirth-Krause Company adopted a new name - The Wolverine®
Shoe and Tanning Corporation. The company continued to
prosper and introduce new innovations in footwear development. Wolverine®
has been a stabilizing influence for the civic and economic well-being of
Rockford.
1966To
greater reflect its continuing growth and diversity, on April 29, 1966,
the company became Wolverine World Wide Inc.
1999
The
Wolverine® brand
has been established in Canada for over a decade.
